Compact Complex Sentence in modern Chinese belongs to Level 5 of international Chinese grammar.It is one of the difficult points in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.The format ‘(yao/xiang)V jiu V ge X’ is a colloquial structure.It is relatively a common sentence pattern in modern Chinese.It can be understood as the contraction form of the hypothetical complex sentence ‘ruguo(yao/xiang)V,jiu V ge X’,because this format implies a logical assumption relationship.The format ‘(yao/xiang)V jiu V ge X’ belongs to a hypothetical condensed complex sentence.We use the theory if construction grammar and conduct a comprehensive and systematic study of language ontology from the grammatical,semantic and pragmatic levels.Besides,we use production-oriented approach to design a reasonable teaching plan carefully,in order to provide guidance and help for the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language in the condensed construction.The thesis is mainly divided into seven chapters:The first chapter comprehensively sorts out and summarizes the research status of related constructions,clarifies the theoretical value and application value of the research,expounds the research theory and research method of this paper,and explains the corpus source of this paper.The second chapter is about the syntactic analysis of the format ‘(yao/xiang)V jiu V ge X’.First,identify the construction of ‘(yao/xiang)V jiu V ge X’ and describe the characteristics of the whole structure.On this basis,investigate the components one by one,Find out the characteristics of the option ‘yao/xiang’,associative effects between the invariant term ‘jiu’ and ‘ge’ and the characteristics of ‘V’ and ‘X’ that can enter the structure.Second,discuss the syntactic function of the format,and expound the situations in which the construction can be used as a predicate,an object or as a single sentence,a clause,and in conjunction.The third chapter is about the semantic analysis of the format ‘(yao/xiang)V jiu V ge X’.Firstly,carry out the ‘V’ from the perspectives of time dimension and action type.Second,summarize the semantic types and semantic features of ‘X’.Third,illustrate the semantic orientation of ‘X’.It can point to a variety of syntactic components such as subject,predicate verb and object.Finally,by discussing the basic semantics and logical-semantic relationship of constructions,it is concluded that constructions hide logical assumptions.It can be used as the subjunctive to express subjective wishes,and under certain circumstances,to express the action subject’s behavior when doing something.It has a subjective large meaning.The fourth chapter is about the pragmatic analysis of the format ‘(yao/xiang)V jiu V ge X’.First,based on a large number of corpora,discuss the main styles of this format.Second,the role of construction is discussed.It is found that it can be used to express emotion,highlight focal information,and when it appears in the title,it can play a role of "eyecatching".The fifth chapter is about the design of production-oriented approach in ‘(yao/xiang)V jiu V ge X’ in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.First,sort out he teaching mode of production-oriented approach concisely.Then,based on the POA teaching concept,the teaching scheme is designed for ‘(yao/xiang)V jiu V ge X’,and the classroom teaching is carried out in the circular mode of ‘drive-enable-evaluate-re-drive-re-enable-reevaluate’.The chapter six is about the reflection of production-oriented approach which is applied to the teaching of ‘(yao/xiang)V jiu V ge X’.Based on the actual feedback,the teaching is reflected.First,the prescriptive construction requires teachers to design sufficient amounts output exercises.Not only pay attention to the combination and collocation of words,words and phrases,but also to the influence of the overall meaning on the output effect.Second,the difficulty gradient is set according to the difficulty grade of the format to carry out graded teaching and reduce fear of difficulty.Chapter seven is the conclusion of this paper which summarize the main content of this paper and point out the innovation and the direction of future efforts.
