| prosocial behavior is an important indicator of individual socialization development. It is not only conducive to the healthy development of body and mind, but also can promote social stability and harmony.Among them,in the study of the influence of family on children’s prosocial behavior, parental rearing pattern is also the focus of academic research.Studies have shown that mindfulness may increase prosociality. In recent years, mindfulness research has begun to expand from the internal process of individuals to interpersonal interaction, especially parent-child relationship, and some studies have confirmed that parents’idiosyncratic mindfulness has an influence on children’s development. The integration of mindfulness orientation into parent-child relationship gives birth to a new concept:mindfulness parenting. In recent years, some studies have found that parenting level of mindfulness can promote children’s positive psychosocial adjustment. In the study of parenting styles,it is also found that parents’positive parenting styles can promote the development of children’s empathy ability. Therefore, starting from the influencing factors of prosocial behavior, this study aims to explore the relationship between parental mindfulness parenting and children’s prosocial behavior, and analyze the mediating role of children’s empathy in the influence of parental mindfulness parenting on children’s prosocial behavior. This study is divided into the following two studies:Study 1 Revises the Chinese Version of the Mindful Parenting Scale for Children.First, the revised scale was translated by the method of two-way translation, and the Chinese version of the formal mindfulness parenting scale was formed through measurement and interview revision.Then,809 primary school students’parents from several primary schools in Guangdong and other places were sampled by convenient sampling to conduct an online questionnaire survey to complete the revision of the questionnaire. The revised scale has 22 questions and 2 factors. There is a significant positive correlation between the total score of the scale and the scores of the two subscales and the total score of the mindfulness attention awareness scale. The Cronbach’sαcoefficient of mindfulness parenting scale is 0.94,and the Cronbach’sαcoefficients of attention to the present and mindfulness discipline are 0.90 and 0.91respectively.The indicators of confirmatory factor analysis are:x~2/df=2.95,RMSEA=0.05,IFI=0.95,CFI=0.95,RFI=0.92,GFI=0.93,NFI=0.93,which indicates that the structural validity is good.Study 2 explored the relationship between parents’level of mindful parenting and children’s prosocial behavior and related mechanisms.Using convenient sampling method,645 primary school students and their main caregivers(parents)from several primary schools in Guangdong and Hunan were investigated by questionnaire, and the relationship between children’s prosocial behavior, parents’mindfulness and empathy was discussed. The results show that mother’s mindfulness parenting has a significant positive predictive effect on children’s prosocial behavior(β=0.45,p<0.001),parents’mindfulness parenting has a positive predictive effect on children’s empathy(β=0.08,p<0.05),and children’s empathy has a significant positive predictive effect on children’s prosocial behavior(β=0.43,p<0.001 Empathy plays a partial mediating role between parents’mindfulness and children’s prosocial behavior. The main conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)The revised parental mindfulness scale has good psychometric indicators, which can be used as an effective tool to measure the parental mindfulness level of primary school students in the future.(2)Mindfulness parenting is positively correlated with prosocial behavior. The higher the level of mindfulness parenting of parents, the higher the prosocial level of children.(3)Mindfulness parenting is positively correlated with empathy. The higher the level of mindfulness parenting of parents, the higher the empathy ability of children.(4)Empathy plays an intermediary role in the influence of mindfulness parenting on children’s prosocial behavior. |
