| Grammar contains the rules of language use,determines the accuracy of language expression,and occupies an important position in language learning.Therefore,how to effectively improve the English grammar level of learners is a significant focus of English teachers and foreign language education researchers.Under the background of the New Curriculum Reform,the level of English teaching has been improved.However,there are still some problems in grammar teaching practice.Firstly,most teachers still insist on using traditional inductive and deductive methods.Secondly,the concept of exam-oriented education is still deeply ingrained.Thirdly,there is a gap between the current teaching and the requirements of the National English Curriculum Standard for Compulsory Education(2011).Wen Qiufang created Production-Oriented Approach(hereinafter referred to as POA)around language input and output in order to solve the problem of separation of learning and using in Chinese foreign language teaching.This study attempted to integrate POA theory into English grammar teaching in junior high school,and explored the following three questions.1)What is the impact of POA on the students’ grammar learning interest?2)What is the impact of POA on the utilization rate and the accuracy of the target structure in students’ output materials?3)What are the problems encountered in the process? How to solve them?Guided by Wen Qiufang’s POA theory,the author carried out two rounds of grammar lesson study in Class 12,Grade 8,a junior high school in Tianjin,which lasted for one month.By using tests,questionnaires,interviews and reflections as research instruments and data collection and analysis,the following conclusions were finally drawn.1)Students’ interest in grammar learning has been significantly improved.2)Students’ utilization rate and accuracy of target structure has been significantly improved.3)An effective POA chain of English grammar teaching in junior high school has been proposed,which opens up new ideas for junior high school English grammar teaching.In addition,in the research,the author put forward some limitations of this study and some suggestions for the future research,hoping to provide a reference for the further research of POA. |
