| Grammar is a dynamic system that consists of the form of language,meaning and usage of language(Yule,2002).The elementary status of language competencies have been clarified in Ordinary High School English Curriculum Standard(2017 Edition)published by the Ministry of Education,and the mastery of grammar in context is the major objective for senior high school students.However,some teachers and students still pay more attention to the memory of enormous grammar rules and neglect the pragmatic function of English language,making students lose interest in grammar learning.Micro-lecture,as a new type of educational technology,is a supplementary means to integrate a certain knowledge point in class or the teaching method and is mainly presented by the carrier of video with the guidance of the New Curriculum Standard.The purpose of micro-lectures is to stimulate students’ learning interest,cultivate students’ autonomous learning competences and satisfy the needs of learners.This thesis tries to explore the application of micro-lectures to English grammar revision class in senior high school,aiming to validate the following two hypotheses:1.The application of micro-lectures could motivate students’ interest ingrammar revision in senior three.2.The application of micro-lectures could improve students’ grammar scores.The research lasted three months from September 15,2018,to December 15,2018.With the guidance of the English teaching syllabus and the New Curriculum Standard(2017 Edition),the researcher prepared the pre-questionnaire and pre-test,edited the ten grammar learning plans which are attached to some targeted micro-lectures made by the researcher through the software Focusky.Two English classes and one English night class in each week were used to carry out the grammar revision based on micro-lectures.During the implementation of the experiment,3D5 P mode was implemented which refer to three-dimension class such as pre-class,while-class,and post-class and five procedures contain presentation,practicing,evaluation,discussion,and conclusion.After collecting and analyzing the data,the results show that with the application of micro-lectures,students’ grammar interest has been stimulated and their English grammar scores have been improved.For instance,students’ overall language knowledge has been improved,such as students’ mastery of verb,the distinction of predicate verb and non-finite verb,the understanding of subordinate clauses which are the checkpoints in NMET.In the process of the interviewing,the students who are from the experimental class show their feelings about the assistance of micro-lectures,most of whom expressed their favorite of micro-lectures.Because of the limitations of this study,it provides prospects for future research.Theoretically,this thesis has verified the teaching philosophy of the student-centered in constructivism.The students have built up their grammar knowledge net to put them in use.Practically,the 3D5 P teaching mode of micro-lectures stimulates students’ learning interest and improve students’ grammar scores,supplying the practical experience for the teachers and students in senior three. |
