| With the development of Chinese as a second language teaching,the research on Chinese for special purposes is becoming more extensive.In order to investigate the Chinese teaching for special purposes of the Mombasa Nairobi railway operation company in Kenya and the development trend of special-purpose Chinese teaching in Kenya,this study takes the staff of the Mombasa Nairobi railway operation company as the research object,adopts four research methods: literature research methodology,questionnaire survey method,data analysis method,and interview method,and makes statistics and Analysis on the questionnaire and interview,It was found that the staff of Mombasa Nairobi railway operation company believe that "speaking" is the essential skill in the Chinese language when learning special-purpose Chinese.They also hope to visit and study in China’s railway transportation department during their study.The environment created by such extracurricular learning is conducive to improving their professional knowledge and Chinese level.In the interview with Eric,a local teacher in Kenya,this study noticed that there are three problems in the special-purpose Chinese teaching of Mombasa Nairobi railway operation company: first,there are insufficient special-purpose Chinese teaching resources,such as lack of teaching materials,teacher reference books,dictionaries,teaching aids,and other resources;Secondly,the company has few teachers engaged in special-purpose Chinese teaching.At present,Eric is only a teacher.He lacks professional knowledge in the target field;Finally,it is the staff’s problem.The author learned that the staff who participated in the training experienced absenteeism,class desertion,and other problems in the interview.This study puts forward solutions for teaching resources,teachers’ problems,and staff problems to provide reference to the teaching for Chinese special purposes of the Mombasa Nairobi railway operation company. |
