With the development of modern society,higher education plays an essential role in our daily life.Many countries believe that developing higher education is a way to enhance national power.Many people think that receiving higher education is the premise of living a good life.Although American history is short,its higher education is famous in the world.The Second World War is a significant turning point in the history of American higher education.After the Second World War,American higher education faced many problems.The Soviet Union launched the first Satellite in the 1950s.In the 1960s,a lot of social movements happened in America.In the 1970s,the two oil shocks drove the economic stagflation of America.In the 1990s,the world entered the age of globalization.Thus,America made a series of reforms on its higher education to keep pace with the development of society.In the process of reforming,America paid much attention to the popularization,equality,and globalization of higher education.Eventually,after a series of fruitful reforms,American higher education entered into a golden age and realized the modernization of higher education.Based on the documentary research method,this paper analyzes the Act,the management,and the internationalization of higher education in the reform of American higher education after the Second World War.This paper summarizes the achievements and significance of the reform to deepen the understanding of American higher education.This paper considers that the reform makes American higher education achieve a great success.American higher education sets a good example for other countries.
