Chang And Persistence:a Study On The Marriage Customs Of Tuyao In Hezhou

Based on the specific period of accelerating Tuyao’s social transformation,this study uses the theory of social change,and uses the methods of participatory observation,qualitative and quantitative analysis to describe the basic situation of Tuyao’s traditional marriage customs.Taking the 1990 s as an important period of Tuyao’s marriage customs change,this paper analyzes and discusses the characteristics,causes and influence of Tuyao’s marriage customs change in this period of accelerated economic and cultural development.This paper discusses it through four chapters.The first chapter mainly introduces the two Tuyao inhabited towns,etang and Shatian,Pinggui District,Hezhou City,from the aspects of Tuyao’s immigration history,geographical environment,economic life,cultural customs and religious beliefs.The second chapter combs and introduces Tuyao’s traditional marriage customs in detail from three aspects: Tuyao’s pre marriage customs,traditional wedding and post marriage customs.The second chapter combs and introduces Tuyao’s traditional marriage customs in detail from three aspects: Tuyao’s pre marriage customs,traditional wedding and post marriage customs.The third chapter discusses the changes of Tuyao’s marriage customs from the aspects of marriage concept,marriage form,marriage ceremony and marriage function,and summarizes the three characteristics of the changes of marriage customs,one is the gradual change in persistence,the other is the symbiosis of old and new customs,and the third is the maintenance of ethnic boundaries.The fourth chapter analyzes the reasons and effects of the changes of Tuyao’s marriage customs,and holds that the protection of modern marriage rights,the transformation of Yao people’s livelihood mode,the integration of multi-ethnic cultures and the reconstruction of traditional villages are the main reasons for the changes of Tuyao’s marriage customs.The change of Tuyao’s marriage customs affects the transformation of Tuyao’s family role and social status,and affects the economic development of the village.In addition,the change of marriage customs also affects the cultural and psychological adjustment of Tuyao group.With the passage of time and social changes,Tuyao marriage customs will continue to change,which is worthy of our continuous attention.
