Risk preference is situational dependent.Self-other decision-making may produce different decision considerations and results due to different situations.The risk-taking behavior based on sensation seeking may have a certain impact on risk decision-making for different psychological distances,reflected in different decision-making preferences.In order to study the matters above,the study adopts the Balloon Analogue Risk Task on two experiments: influence of sensation seeking and frame effect on risk decision;influence of sensation seeking,frame effect and decision maker’s role on risk decision.Discussing the different decision-making preferences between people with high / low sensation seeking tendency in gain situation or loss situation,and for themselves,strangers or the intimates.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)High sensation seekers tend to risk preference in both gain and loss situations;Low sensation seekers have higher risk preference in loss situation than in gain situation.(2)High / low sensation seekers are more inclined to risk aversion when they making risk decisions for strangers,as well as in the case of gain and loss;When making risk decisions for intimates they show a higher level of risk preference,as well as in the case of gain and loss.This study discusses the impact of sensation seeking tendency and decision maker’s role on risk decision-making under the gain or loss situation,which can help we better understand the influencing factors of risk decision-making,explore the psychological mechanism and decision-making experience when making decisions for others,and help people make more reasonable decisions in real life.Understanding the risk preference of different sensation seekers when they are in different decision maker’s roles can make more reasonable adjustments in decision-making and help us make more scientific and effective decisions.
