A Study On The Northern Animal Style Of Central Plains During The Shang And Zhou Dynasties

Animal style is a very distinctive and representative decorative style in North steppe culture and even the Eurasian steppe during the Shang and Zhou Dynasties,and in the past,in the study of the northern factors in the Central Plains,scholars paid attention to bronze ware,rather than animal patterns used for decoration.This paper collects artifacts decorated with northern animal style found in the Central Plains from the early Shang to the Warring States,and studies the northern animal style on these artifacts,including a new type of animal decoration after the transformation and innovation of the northern decorative style.It is divided into six chapters:Chapter 1:Introduction.Clarify the research origin,the research object and define the spatio-temporal scope of the study,introduce the research review and research objectives.Chapter 2:Enumerates the detection of animal style in various regions at various periods.Chapter 3:Typological analysis and chronological analysis of collected artifacts.The utensils are divided into eight categories according to their functions,and specific typological studies are carried out according to the decoration and expression of animal style,and then chronological analysis is carried out in combination with briefings and artifacts unearthed together.Chapter 4: On the basis of typology analysis,the development of northern animal style in the Central Plains is divided into five stages,and divided into five regions according to its distribution characteristics,and the development context of northern animal style in the Central Plains is sorted out.At the same time,these northern animal style are analyzed and divided into two levels:simple introduction and imitation,integration and innovation of the application stage.Chapter 5:Combining the coexistence relationship and historical background of the typical stage and the typical regional northern animal style,discussing the relationship between the Central Plains and the North.Chapter 6:Conclusion.This paper believes that in addition to continuing their own decorative functions,some of the animal style used in the Central Plains are also given functions such as family identification signs in the process of application.Animal style is the reflection and expression of the spiritual level of the northern ethnic group,this paper combines the research on the development process of the northern animal style in the Central Plains,and tries to explain the relationship and interaction between the Central Plains population and the northern ethnic group.
