On The Important Role Of Character Language In Dramatic Performance

Character language is the lines we often say in drama performance.Drama comes from life.In life,language is the bridge between people.We usually express our emotions through language.In the process of drama performance,the actor understands the role through the language in the script,so as to enter the role.The audience resonates with the role through the actor’s language transmission.The actor’s thoughts are mainly expressed and transmitted by language.Through the transmission of language,the actor can intuitively express the character’s inner feelings.Therefore,character language plays an indispensable role in the process of creating characters and drama performance.Character language can be called "yes" because it can not only directly express the character’s thoughts,but also reflect the inner emotional changes of the character.The whole drama is driven by the actor’s lines,that is,the character’s language.The lines can accurately show the characters themselves and the contradictions and conflicts between characters,as well as the character,thought,emotion and the state and purpose of the characters’ actions.Taking the author’s graduation work "the sadness of comedy" as an example,this paper fully combines the theoretical knowledge of performance with practice,discusses in detail the overview of character language,the important role of character language in drama performance,and the ways and methods for actors to grasp character language,and draws relevant conclusions.In the process of drama performance,actors should not only show the character through body movements and facial expressions,but also show the character’s thoughts through the communication of character language.In order to ensure a certain performance effect,actors should always highlight their professionalism and characteristics in the shaping of character language,and improve their skills in the future practice.
