| Chinese vocal music works based on ancient poetry are not rare.Composed in 1981,The Songs at Midnight of seasons is composed of four pairs of independent vocal works,namely "spring","summer","autumn" and "winter",thus forming "vocal cycle".In this divertimento,natural images are used to illustrate people’s ordinary life in the four seasons.Jin Xiang,the composer,based on the fusion of Chinese and western melody,mode,harmony and other elements,combined with the poetry of the Wei and Jin dynasties,described the Chinese traditional tone,composed a music work that pursues the harmony between man and nature,and expresses the humanistic consciousness and spirit. |
