| With the development of Chinese in the world,the number of people learning Chinese is increasing,the proportion of children learners is gradually increasing,and the number of young children learners is also gradually increasing,which increases the demand for Chinese textbooks for children in teaching."YCT Standard Course" is a set of Chinese textbooks for children,while "Charactermon Go YCT" is a set of Chinese textbooks for young children.Both of them are compiled according to the outline of YCT level examination.However,there are few research achievements on YCT Level 4 textbooks,and the contents of YCT Level 4 textbooks are richer than the whole set of textbooks.Therefore,I compare "YCT Standard Course 5 and 6" with "Charactermon Go YCT5 and 6" and put forward suggestions in order to provide reference and reference significance for similar children’s Chinese teaching materials.Based on the children’s cognitive theory,textbook evaluation theory and the new YCT level 4 outline,this paper compares the two sets of textbooks in seven aspects,that is,the writing concept,writing style,vocabulary,grammar,texts,illustrations and exercises.According to the research,in terms of the compilation concept of teaching materials,"Charactermon Go YCT" points out that the teaching materials are for young children,and "YCT Standard Course" is for primary and middle school students.In terms of writing style,the overall review stage of "YCT Standard Course5 and 6" is arranged more reasonably,which is conducive to consolidating and reviewing the knowledge learned by students.However,the form of exercises in the single course structure is relatively fixed and not rich enough,which is inferior to the arrangement of "YCT Standard Course 5 and 6 "in this respect.In terms of vocabulary arrangement,by comparing the number,definition mode and grade of the two vocabularies,we can get a conclusion that the coverage of the two vocabularies is close to that of YCT level 4 vocabularies.There are some inappropriateness in the definition mode of the words in "Charactermon Go YCT5 and 6".In terms of grammar arrangement,the number,grade and presentation of the two grammars are almost the same,but there are some gaps in the coverage of YCT level 4 grammars.In terms of text arrangement,compared with the content,topic and length of the text,""Charactermon Go YCT5 and 6" is more interesting and practical in text arrangement.The text content attaches importance to the repetition of vocabulary,and the topic selection is closer to the cognitive level of young children,and the arrangement is more reasonable.In terms of illustrations choreography,from comparing the amount and types of illustrations,two sets of textbooks have attaches great importance to the illustrations to teaching material,but the type of illustration about "Charactermon Go YCT5 and 6" is relatively single,it only used drawing illustrations,and the application of illustrations function is not balanced,the two textbooks play too much attention to illustrations of the decorative function.The promotion function and enhancement function of illustrations are seldom applied.In terms of the arrangement of exercises,the total amount,question types and content of exercises are compared."Charactermon Go YCT5 and 6" highlight the investigation of "recognizing Chinese characters",but the exercises of composition in the textbook are slightly improper.The results show that the two sets of teaching materials are more conform to the requirements of the outline so that they have the same difficulty.However,as a textbook for young children,we can find some issues from the study that is young children’s Chinese textbooks didn’t make it clear for its position,and the difficulty of content is not fit for cognitive ability.Based on relevant theories and research results,this paper puts forward the following three suggestions for the compilation of Chinese textbooks for young children: one is to make clear the age division of the target users;Second,pay attention to accord with the cognitive characteristics of young children;Thirdly,the difficulty of teaching materials should be controlled strictly according to the users of teaching materials.Fourthly,the teacher’s guidebook should be improved and the corresponding online teaching resources should be developed.It is expected that the analysis results and suggestions in this paper will be helpful for the compilation of Chinese textbooks for children and promote the vigorous development of Chinese textbooks for children. |
