| David Harvey,a famous British thinker and contemporary famous left-wing scholar,on the basis of inheriting the critical tradition of Marx’s political economy,he criticized Western neo-liberalism,especially American neo-liberalism,with the unique historical geographical materialism as the critical theoretical tool, and occupied an important position in the critical history of Western left-wing neo-liberalism.The research of Harvey’s critical thought of neo-liberalism is helpful for us to understand the essence of neo-liberalism,identify the performance of neo-liberalism in various fields, and grasp the new trend of the development of neo-liberalism,so as to help us identify and criticize the "variants" of neo-liberalism in the new period, and consciously resist and prevent the infiltration of neo-liberalism.This paper is divided into five chapters to research Harvey’s critical thought of neo-liberalism.The first chapter introduces the research background, research significance and research status, and introduces the research ideas and research methods of this paper. The second chapter,as the foundation of the full text, combs the internal logic of Harvey’s critical thought of neo-liberalism through the main line of "why Harvey criticizes, what Harvey criticizes, and how Harvey criticizes".Adhering to the critical position of capitalism,Harvey used historical geographical materialism to launch multiple criticisms of Western neo-liberalism in his texts such as New Imperialism,A Brief History of Neo-liberalism,and The Space of Neo-liberalism.The third chapter combs the main contents of Harvey’s critical thought of neo-liberalism.Harvey’s critical content includes: exposing the essence of neo-liberalism,analyzing the historical process of neo-liberalism,criticizing the hegemonic logic of American neo-liberalism and the performance of neo-liberalism in various fields.By criticizing neo-liberalism,Harvey reveals that the essence of neo-liberalism globalization is the accumulation process of global capital spatialization led by capital logic in Britain and the United States. The fourth chapter expounds Harvey’s alternatives to neo-liberalism,including the alternatives to American neo-liberalism by class struggle and "New Deal",as well as Harvey’s Philosophical Reflection on neo-liberalism.The fifth chapter evaluates the critical thought of Harvey’s neo-liberalism.The theoretical contribution of Harvey’s critical thought of neo-liberalism lies in that he criticizes neo-liberalism comprehensively, inherits Marx’s critical tradition of political economy, and develops the perspective of criticizing neo-liberalism from the spatial dimension; However,Harvey’s critical thought of neo-liberalism has the limitations of exaggerating the "geographical" factors and staying at the theoretical level. We should keep an objective attitude towards the critical thought of Harvey’s neo-liberalism,absorb its benefits, and provide enlightenment for our theoretical research and construction practice. |
