A Report On The C-E Translation Of On The Game Theory From A New Perspective And Literary Texts （Excerpts）

From April to October 2021,under the guidance of the supervisor,the translator participated in the translation project On The Game Theory from a New Perspective and Literary Texts,and took part of it as the translation practice object.According to the assignment,the translator was responsible for three sections（16860 words in total）of the book.Based on the translation practice project,the translator chose the translation process as the research object to review and summarize.Taking Skopos Theory as the theoretical support with the “three rules” of it---skopos rule,coherence rule and fidelity rule,the translator hopes to provide a feasible and reliable translated text for translators in the thesis literature area,and to make a modest contribution to the literary works which have the game theory.The source text makes good use of concise and vivid words,compact structure,direct expressions,and a variety of rhetorical devices.There are a lot of Chinese idioms in it.Therefore,intercultural consciousness is necessary and words should be used to respond to the linguistic habits of the target language.In the process of translation,the translator intends to solve the problems,such as the translation of Chinese idioms,the management of long and difficult sentences,and the embodiment of source text style.To solve these problems,in terms of translation technology,the translator uses computer-aided translation;In terms of translation methods,under Skopos Theory,the translator selects literal translation,free translation,amplification,and conversion to achieve the purpose.Through this translation practice,the translator hopes to summarize and accumulate the experience and methods through the difficulties encountered in translation,and to provide practical cases for translation in literary fields,so as to better serve literary translation.
