This report is based on the practice of simultaneous interpreting in a lecture themed “Providing Support for Listening”.it was held in an educational institution in May,2021.The speaker,Professor Rod Ellis,was a British linguist,professor in the School of Education of Curtin University in Australia and the visiting professor of Anaheim University and Shanghai International Studies University.And the author worked as a simultaneous interpreter for this academic lecture delivered in the 2021 English Base Overseas Expert Series ForumThis report is completed under the guidance of Effort Model.The theory proposed by Daniel Gile points out that four kinds of energy are needed in simultaneous interpreting: “Listening and Analysis”(L),“Production”(P),“Memory ”(M)and “Coordination”(C).This theory emphasizes the importance of energy distribution in simultaneous interpreting and also provides theoretical and practical guidance for interpreters’ interpreting activities.This report records the whole process of interpreting,including three parts,respectively source language record,target language interpreting and revised target language.In this report,the interpreter tries to evaluate her performance comprehensively.At the same time,specific analysis of the problems in this report is adopted so as to accumulate professional experience and improve the interpreter’s ability and provide experience as reference for other interpreters.
