A Study On The Application Of The Minimalist Style In The Electronic Music Composition

In the field of electronic music composition,the electronic music pieces of minimalist music style are eye-catching.Minimalism,as a kind of music style,has been influential since its rise in the 1960 s,especially in the field of electronic music composition.Electronic Music has gone through three stages of Tape Music,Synthesizer Music and Computer Music in its development after World War II.In the pieces of electronic music composers represented by Stockhausen,it is very different from the electronic music naturally pronounced by the resonance of traditional musical instruments,which as a mode of music composition covering multiple musical styles.Minimalism is one of them with distinctive character.Based on the perspective of this dissertation’s insight into the topic,the author divides the electronic music discussed into Acousmatic Music and Mixed Electronic Music,and selects a piece as the representative of the two forms of electronic music: acoustic music pieces are represented by Idle Chatter,mixed electronic music pieces are represented by Red Arc / Blue Veil.The conclusions of this dissertation are as follows: by observing the application practice of minimalist music style in two types of electronic music pieces,I interpreted the composer’s intention and music effect.The theoretical research of this dissertation has great guiding value and enlightening significance for my electronic music composition.
