| Due to the influence of Western painting from the east, one of the more significant reasons why Qing dynasty painting of ladies differed from traditional painting of ladies was the application of perspective. As a common painting discipline in Qing dynasty palace painting, the application of perspective here reflects the evolution of artistic expression, aesthetic sensibility, and social and cultural content. While academic researchers have studied the overall richness of Qing court ladies’ paintings, while affirming the use of perspective in some of them, they have not conducted an in-depth study of perspective and Qing court ladies’ paintings, and have not yet clarified the intrinsic connections. This dissertation consists of five chapters. The first introductory chapter focuses on the background of the topic, the purpose and significance of the topic, the current research status, the research approach and the innovation points. The second chapter traces the overview of Qing dynasty painting of ladies and perspective, and clarifies the definition, development and evolution of the characteristics of both.Chapter 3 clarifies the formation background and practice composition of perspective in Qing dynasty painting of ladies.Chapter 4 focuses on the analysis of the methods, objects and characteristics of perspective in Qing dynasty paintings of ladies. The fifth chapter focuses on the comparative study and revelation of perspective in Qing dynasty palace and modern brush painting of female figures. The final chapter summarizes the ideas covered in the whole paper. In conclusion, this paper focuses on Qing dynasty court painting,in which women were the main subjects, and compares the relevant materials to go deeper into perspective and its specific performance on visual space and image space in Qing dynasty court paintings of women. The discussion of Qing dynasty paintings of ladies is not focused on the main figure of the picture, but on the overall space of the composition of the painting image. The discussion of Qing dynasty paintings of women takes perspective as the starting point, making it the link between ancient and modern Chinese paintings of women subjects.Documentary research, image analysis, and comparative analysis are used to explore "perspective" in relation to images, styles, viewing, and historical changes. The introduction of Western culture in the Ming and Qing dynasties led to the infiltration of Western perspective into traditional Chinese painting to varying degrees,a phenomenon that was particularly prominent in Qing dynasty court paintings. The perspective point of view, field of view, and point of view will change as the subject matter and form of the painting change. The ultimate goal is to preserve the style of the Ming and Qing dynasties’ female figures with softness as beauty, but also to achieve the illusion of visual effect, which provides a reflection for modern artists to create paintings of female subjects with brushwork. |
