| With the induction of coffee into China in the last century, coffee has gradually become a refreshment in our daily life rather than a luxury drink. And coffee culture is so charming that more and more people are attracted to explore this field. And as soon as the coffee culture appears,it is tightly associated with the life philosophy. But in our life, when people drink coffee, they rarely connect coffee with the metaphysical in philosophy. However, the translation material as an informative text introduces the philosophical information and the relationship between coffee and philosophy by taking coffee as a carrier for philosophical discussion. The translation material of the practical report on the E-C translation is excerpted from Coffee: Philosophy for Everyone.Under the framework of eco-translatology,typical cases are selected in the report from three aspects: linguistic dimension, cultural dimension and communicative dimension. And the proper translation strategies are used to achieve the ecological balance between the original text, the target text and the target readers and provide a translation with the highest-level “integrated adaptive selection”.In the linguistic dimension,four-character structures, conversion and shift of passive voice are used to make the translation in line with Chinese expression. In the cultural dimension, annotation and domestication are employed to fill the cultural gap and cultural equivalence,so that the target readers can have a cultural resonance with the original author. In the communicative dimension, the transformation of logic relations and omission are adopted to effectively convey the original information to the target readers to achieve the communicative intention.By doing so,the report not only expands fields for the application of eco-translatology in translation practice, but also enriches the interpretation perspective for the translation practice of informative text. Moreover,it also provides a reference for translation teaching cases in BTI and MTI. |
