| “New Historians” is a new school of historiography that emerged in Israel in the1980 s.The research results of the school have been focused on domestic traditional historians and Palestinian historians,while triggeting the history of the two sides on the school’s appearance and its research results.By studying the historiographical achievements of the “New Historians” in different periods of development,this paper attempts to analyze the characteristics and influence of their historiographical research.According to the changes and characteristics of “New Historians”research,this paper is divided into five parts.The introduction part mainly analyzes the current situation of the research on “New Historians” in domestic and foreign academic circles,and explains the origin and significance of the research in this paper.The first chapter analyzes the background of the emergence of “New Historians”and the formation of schools.Analysis from two clues: academic background and social background: From the academic aspect,from three aspects: the development status of Israel’s domestic historiography,the impact of Western historiography on Israeli historiography,and the impact of Palestinian historiography on Israeli historiography;from the social background,analyzes Israel’s launch of the Lebanon War influence on historians.Based on the above background and the historian’s personal research process,the “New Historians” came into being.The second chapter interprets the history of development of “New Historians”.In the early stage,historians broke the results of traditional historiography research and reconstructed the history of the founding of Israel;in the middle stage,they were concerned and criticized by domestic historians in Israel and Palestine,and their development was once frustrated;in the later stage,“New Historians” adjusted their research ideas and continued to adhere to the original school historical position.The development process of historiography pioneered by “New Historians” presents the staged characteristics of criticism and reconstruction in the early stage,dialogue and setbacks in the middle stage,and adjustment and persistence in the later stage.The third chapter summarizes the characteristics of “New Historians”historiography research and evaluates its influence and limitations.The characteristics of historiography are divided into four aspects: the selection of historical materials,the perspective of research,the changes in historiographical attitudes towards Palestine and the characteristics of changes in different stages of development.The evaluation of the“New Historians” mainly analyzes the development of Israeli historiography,Palestinian historiography,and the development of the school’s own historiography,which not only reflects the “New Historians” breaking away from traditional historiography and obtaining new results,but also objectively analyzes the problems of loose selection of historical materials,the lack of a firm stance of historians,and the lack of adjustment strength in the later period.The conclusion summarizes and evaluates the academic status,innovative value and limitations of “New Historians” in the history of Israeli historiography. |
