Say ram was an outstanding Uyghur historian on the research of Uyghur modern history, as his masterpieces, the historical works《Tarikh-i aminiya》and《Tarikh-i Khamidi》won a great reputation and have academic value on history of Xinjiang and Uyghur. Based on classifying and analysis on Say ram's works and his historical thoughts, this thesis will try to show Say ram's contributions on the development of Uyghur history and also his position among these who contributed a lot for the research on Chinese minority 'history.This thesis profoundly discusses the formation, content, and traits of Say ram's historical thoughts based on the deep understanding of his works (Tarikh-i aminiya》and《Tarikh-i Khamidi》. By doing this, insufficiency on his historical thoughts research is expected to be found. This thesis composes four parts:One. Our basic knowledge about Say ram and his works come from his stories, the content and structure of《Tarikh-i aminiya》and《Tarikh-i Khamidi》, and his historical documents and resources.Two. The living background of Say ram defined his historical thoughts, beside this, social changes and his personal experience also strongly affected it.Three. From six aspects which are the concept of history, concept of humanism history, spirit of historical criticism, teleology, evaluation on historical characters, regional culture, we analysis Say ram's understanding on objective history, as well as the discussion on his historical methodology form the views of induction, comparison, and dialectics.After the review of Say ram's historical thoughts, this thesis will conclude its traits and restrictions. His historic was abundant, and also with the unique historical writing methods. Compare with other historians, the modern historical materialistic thought was more scientific and advanced. Meanwhile, for its complexity, both spiritualism and materialism were traceable, so its restriction can be seen too.The thesis tries to comprehensively reveal the general Say ram historical thoughts, and objectively give comments on traits and restrictions on his historical thoughts, and also expect to find his position in Uyghur and Chinese minority's history research.
