Research On Taoism And Culture Of Dongxiao Temple

Dongxiao Temple is an important Taoist temple in Chinese history,which has made brilliant ideological and cultural achievements in the long-term historical development.Some Taoists in the history of Dongxiao Temple played an important role in the development of Taoism.Dongxiao Temple in the Southern Song Dynasty was deeply intertwined with politics and society,which had a profound impact on the political and social trend of thought in the Southern Song Dynasty.Dongxiao Temple has a prominent position,and has a common connection with the literati officials in the Southern Song Dynasty.In the trend of thought of three religions in one,we can also see the connotation of Taoism.Dongxiao Temple is also of great cultural value.Many poets in history wrote about it,and the landscape architecture was once very prosperous.In addition,Dongxiao Temple also played an important role in the management of religious affairs in the Southern Song Dynasty.From the perspective of philosophy,this paper analyzes the Taoist thought and culture of Dongxiao Temple.The research process refers to a large number of documents and classics,and adopts the methods of on-the-spot investigation and social investigation.The first chapter introduces the general situation of the geographical location and natural environment of the Dongxiao Temple;combs the historical evolution of the Dongxiao Temple: the Han Dynasty is the initial stage,the Tang Dynasty is the development stage,the song and Yuan Dynasties is the peak stage,and the Ming and Qing Dynasties is the decline stage;as well as the changes in the status of the Dongxiao Temple in the past dynasties.From the perspective of Taoist history,the second chapter introduces the important Taoist activities,important Taoists and schools in the history of Dongxiao Temple,and mainly combs the relationship between Dongxiao Temple and politics in the Song Dynasty,and analyzes the reasons for its high status in the history of Southern Song Dynasty from three aspects: the southward shift of economic center,the compression of political territory,and the attitude of the central government.The third chapter focuses on the philosophical connotation of the Taoist thoughts of the important Taoists in Dongxiao Temple.First of all,relying on the works of the important Taoists in the history of Dongxiao Temple,this paper studies the immortal thought of Dongxiao Temple,including cosmology which tends to explain the formation and evolution of the universe with metaphysical "Tao" and "Qi" with simple materialist color;life theory which pursues transcendence and health care;cultivation method which takes Tao as the direction and attaches importance to the use of Qi.Secondly,it analyzes the Taoist’s natural ethics,family ethics and political ethics from his works and historical records.In addition,it also analyzes the factors of Taoist thought from the thoughts of important thinkers related to Dongxiao Temple,taking Yang Shi and Zhu Xi as examples,and explores the imprint of Dongxiao Temple in the trend of thought of three religions in one in Song Dynasty.The fourth chapter discusses the cultural value of Dongxiao Temple from the perspective of historical value and modern value,and looks forward to the future development of Dongxiao Temple.
