Myths And Legends In Emperor Shun’s Era And The Origin Of Harmonious Music Culture

There are two main uses of the emperor in the pre-Qin literature: one is the title of the ancient emperor,the other is God.At the end of the primitive commune,Emperor Shun had the nature of half man and half god.Many myths and legends about Emperor Shun in Shan Hai Jing.After later scholars studied,Emperor Shun,Emperor Ku,Emperor Jun is the same person.The book records many myths and legends about the wife and descendants of Emperor Shun.Some of the descendants of Emperor Shun,such as Kui of musical officer and Houji of "Tian Zheng",were shaped into the subjects of Emperor Shun in Shang Shu-Yao Dian.The unearthed documents,such as Rong Cheng Shi and Zi Gao record the myth of Yao,Shun and Yu,which corresponds to the deeds of Yao and Yu who became the son of Heaven.The chapter of Mencius-Wan Zhang records the story of Shun and his father and son,focusing on the description of the moral upbringing of the family.The part of Shun Dian in Yao Dian focuses on governing the country and appointing Yu to control the flood,which makes Shun become the model monarch of the Confucianists.The historical narration of Emperor Shun’s era has the characteristics of myth and historical legend intertwined.Based on the relevant myths and legends and historical records,this paper discusses the family of Emperor Shun,the abdication of Yao,and the court of Emperor Shun,and explores the connotation of related myths and legends and the relationship with the origin of "Harmonious Music" culture:The first chapter mainly focuses on the issue of Emperor Shun,from the time of Emperor Shun,on the people of Emperor Shun,the family of Emperor Shun and the imperial court.The second chapter,from the beginning of the flood myth,tells the related agricultural mythology,the music official myth,the sun and moon myth etc.and explores the origin of the culture and art of the Emperor Shun era.Organize the myths and legends of Emperor Shun era,and showing the relationship between myths and legends and ritual activities.Although the figures in the imperial court of Emperor Shun are more common in myths and legends,the establishment of the court has its realistic background.Between 2200 BC and2000 BC,the flood problem provided a realistic basis for the tribes to unite to build a strong court.The third chapter focuses on Harmonious Music culture.the agricultural sacrifice and music and dance ceremony in Yu Shun era show the vitality of the ancestors.Shun is the ancestor of the Shang Dynasty sacrifice pedigree,according to legend is the ancestor of the Xia,Shang and Zhou dynasties,but also the ancestor of humanity.He gave names to the tribes and led them to create brilliant Harmonious Music culture.Although the imperial court of Emperor Shun in Yao Dian has the element of Confucian idealization,after all,there is a real historical origin,which shows the unique creation of Emperor Shun era.In addition,as the source of Harmonious Music culture,Emperor Shun era gives spiritual strength to future generations and provides a blueprint for the construction of a harmonious society.
