Yuan Kejia Poetics

In the 1940s, China's theory of modernism poetry appeared connection signs with the world's most front theory, its theory was represented Yuan Kejia. Yuan Kejia's poetics can be seen as a response of Western modernism and postmodernism in China.This article divides Yuan Kejia's theory into the earlier period and the later period to study separately, for two reasons:first, the earlier period and his modern poetics's production environment is entirely different with the later period, Second, his later period's poetics indeed show very different place with the early. Papers from his special education background and personal interests as a breakthrough, analyzed the reason of his admiration of Western theories of modern poetry, Southwest United University in the China 1940s being a cradle of modernism is very special, only this environment is suitable for the survival of modernism poetry. The paper analysis the early main points, because the modern Poetics survival and development in China can not refuse the request of the Chinese tradition, as the Yuan Kejia modern poetry in the three pillars:"reality","symbol" and "wit", its all deeply rooted in Chinese tradition. It shows concretely as follows:first, "reality" and traditional Chinese poetics of "poem word will", "functional theory" connected closely, also with the new poetry of "pure poetry" and " prose poetry " lessons related; second, "symbol" takes root in China's symbolic culture, the traditional "symbolic" approach requires the modernity recast and the utilization; third, "wit" often has been "misunderstanded", which has not related with the Chinese literature "metaphysical" philosophy, but inherited the traditional Chinese poetics of "serious and witty." Yuan Kejia's Poetry and the poetics since "the May 4th" from the Wen Yiduo, Xu Zhimo, Zhu Guangqian, Bian Zhilin, Feng Zhi and many other theorists are inextricably linked, he and Ai Qing's main points and the criticism standard and so on is different, and against each other.Paper reveals the late Yuan Kejia Poetry is the "modern poetry" theory once again demonstrated and improved. His "four basic relationships theory" draws on the Marxist view of historical materialism and dialectics, objective, thorough and comprehensive. The change from earlier individual experience-based poetics to later period which connects materialism world outlook with individual experience-based poetics, is not only consistent with the requirements of China's social ideology, but also guaranteed his Modern Poetry in system stability. The paper analyzes the reasons that Yuan Kejia has believed that "the contribution of Western modernist poetry is the main side", analyzes the reasons that Yuan Kejia later period given a higher evaluation to W. B. Yeats and the reason that Yuan Kejia later period in poetics "reality" referred has had remarkable changes,The paper thought that Yuan Kejia's discussion in a series of "the UK-US poetics" monograph over the 1950s's western poetic world, and the theory and the creation appraisal on the "Nine Leaves", are very valuable, contributed.In short, theory Yuan Kejia represented is our precious wealth to explore modern poetry's modernization, his eclectic "comprehensive view taking art as subject" really represents the modern Chinese poetry stepwise results in exploring poetry modernization, and have a transcendence through the ages.
