The Presentation And Construction Of Self Reflection In Ethnography Documentary

Ethnographic documentary is the product of the combination of images and anthropology at a certain stage.At the beginning of the development of anthropology,it is not a science that can obtain truth without leaving home.Researchers must go deep into the fields and communities,integrate themselves into the community life,learn the community language,participate in its traditional festivals,weddings and funerals,as well as political,economic,religious and cultural activities.Making a ethnographic documentary requires not only the skillful operation ability of shooting tools,but also the comprehensive and rich display of field images and the application of anthropological concepts to the creation of films.To a certain extent,self reflection is to construct the relationship among the photographer,the shooting object and the audience.When the creator of ethnographic image aims at the community where he or she is stationed,he also regards himself as a part of the whole community.The process of mutual cognition and reflection between the two subjects constructs the subject of ethnographic image.The audience is allowed to directly perceive the process of image shooting,as well as the authenticity,honesty and Introspection of the creator himself through the image,so as to promote the audience’s thinking on image construction and image content.To attribute ethnographic documentary to a certain mode does not mean that this mode is the only possibility for the creation of ethnographic documentary,but only to explore the form features and techniques of self reflection.
