| In the imperial examination of the Ming Dynasty, more than 24,000 people were admitted, among which about 1674 were from Henan, accounting for 6.83% of the total number of Jinshi in the Ming Dynasty.Henan ranked seventh among all provinces, and third in the Northern Examination, less than 50 people less than Shandong Province, which ranked second. It was one of the major provinces in the northern imperial examination of the Ming Dynasty. The time distribution of Henan Jinshi in Ming Dynasty showed an obvious trend of fluctuation and growth. In terms of the average number of students admitted to each subject,it can be roughly divided into four stages: the germination stage of Hongwu to Xuande, the development stage of Zhengtong to Hongzhi, the peak stage of Zhengde to Wanli and the decline stage of Tianqi to Chongzhen. This was related to the development of the imperial examination system at that time, the frequent natural disasters in Henan, the social unrest in Henan in the early Ming and late Ming Dynasties, the restoration and development of educational institutions in Henan, the increase of the population in Henan and the change of people’s ideas.Henan Jinshi household species diversity,in addition to the household registration information of a few people, contains about 12 types of household registration, germination stage and decline of household types are four, stage of development for eight, the peak for 11 kinds of,this with Ming household registration records have a lack of information,Ming dynasty’s economic recovery, increasing enrollment and imperial Ming unrest led to escape phenomenon of cadastral mount and other related factors. In terms of the number of people, the number of Jinshi was the largest, followed by the military, and the number of the other types of household registration was less, which was roughly consistent with the distribution of the household registration of Jinshi in the Ming Dynasty.Among Henan Jinshi,1,587 had official experience, accounting for about 95% of the total number of Jinshi in Henan. In terms of the number of local officials, the number of central officials was roughly equal, and there were many types of official positions, and the central officials accounted for the majority. In terms of the grades of official posts, there were a large number of senior officials of Jinshi in Henan province, and the quality of Jinshi was relatively high. Moreover, the number of low-level officials in the seventh grade was the largest, which was inconsistent with the distribution of the number of senior, middle and low-level officials. This is related to the characteristics of the post setting in Ming Dynasty, the assessment system of officials and the characteristics of Henan Jinshi. In Ming dynasty, the largest number of Henan Jinshi in many key sectors, such as cabinet, official department, etc.,have someone, they with its special political status, the formation of the cabinet and records system, development and decline, the cabinet minister and senior officials of the change in the way selection, tax collection and tax credits to change and increase the system to make its own contribution, consolidate the rule of the Ming dynasty. |
