English is the most widely used language in the world.For those who need to master a large number of English words,how to retain the learning and memory of English words for a long time is the biggest difficulty faced by learners,which directly determines the effectiveness of English learning.Ebbinghaus forgetting curve shows that forgetting occurs immediately after memory,and the process is first fast and then slow,with negative acceleration.Therefore,how to overcome English vocabulary memory impairment is a great challenge for learners.According to the memory law revealed by Ebbinghaus forgetting curve,if we can review the memorized English words in time in an appropriate time and regularly stimulate the memory of the brain,people can remember the learned English words long-term and firmly.The combination of wechat applet and smart phone provides a software and hardware environment for learners to learn anytime and anywhere,and is changing people’s learning behavior in a new mode.Based on Ebbinghaus forgetting curve theory,this study designs and develops a wechat applet that not only does not occupy mobile phone memory space,but also can learn English vocabulary anytime,anywhere and repeatedly.It has good theoretical significance and practical value for exploring English vocabulary mobile learning mode,enriching English mobile learning theory and overcoming English learners’ memory barriers.The purpose of this study is to improve college students’ English vocabulary memory ability.Using the method of questionnaire,this study studies the characteristics of learners’ English vocabulary memory behavior,and carries out the design of English vocabulary learning activities from the aspects of learning objectives,learning situations,learning activities and learning effect evaluation.On this basis,the user demand analysis and system demand analysis of wechat applet are carried out,and the overall structure,hierarchy,system function and database of wechat applet are designed and implemented by further combining Ebbinghaus forgetting curve,fragmented learning theory,mobile learning theory and wechat applet development technology.Finally,the learning effect of the English vocabulary wechat applet based on Ebbinghaus forgetting curve is tested,and the experimental objects are selected for tracking investigation and analysis by using the method of comparative research.The results show that the English vocabulary learning wechat applet designed based on the law of Ebbinghaus forgetting curve can well help learners repeat learning anytime and anywhere,The memory effect of the same vocabulary and the same unit time was improved from 59.42% to 89.10%.
