| Anthologies of Tang quatrains in Qing Dynasty,are of great importance to the study on Tang quatrains in ancient China.They can reflect the view of ancient people on Tang quatrains,and also reflect the research environment of Qing Dynasty.At present,there are 18 anthologies which are available on record,and 10 anthologies which we have access to: In Kangxi Period,there are A Thousand Tang quatrains by Xu Renhua,Anthology of Ten Thousand Tang quatrains by Wang Shizhen,The Essence of Tang quatrains by Liang Wuji.In Yongzheng Period,there is Seven-character Quatrains from Middle and Late Tang Dynasty by Wangxun.In Qianlong period,there are Rain Flower anthology of Tang Quatrains by Xuexue,Tang Quatrains by Sun Kuotu,Anthology of Poems Which are of Real Fun by Li Deju and Liu Hongxu.In Tongzhi Period,there is Annotate on the Transcription of Tang quatrains by Zhao Yanchuan.In Guangxu Period,there are Transcription of Seven-character Tang quatrains by Chen Pu and Transcription of Tang quatrains Which are Selected by Yao Nai by Zhu Kuan.This paper aims to explore four aspects of Tang quatrains based on these 10 anthologies which are mentioned above——types or forms of literature,the division of Tang quatrains,the art of composition,and the center position of Ten Thousand Tang quatrains by Wang Shizhen.Chapter one is the introduction of this paper.This chapter can be divided into two sections: significance of this topic and the review of previous research.Compared with previous dynasties,anthologies of Tang quatrains in Qing Dynasty are more professional and reflect the diversity of poetic ideas.However,the studies of anthologies of Tang quatrains in Qing Dynasty only focus on one famous anthology——Anthology of Ten Thousand Tang quatrains by Wang Shizhen,most of other anthologies are neglected.Chapter two discusses the uniqueness of the anthologies of Tang quatrains in Qing Dynasty.This chapter is composed of two different parts.The first part focuses on the anthologies of Tang quatrains which are selected an edited before Qing Dynasty.Compared with these anthologies,anthologies which were written in Qing Dynasty are more abundant in authors and opinions.The second part summarizes the fundamental state and essential feature of anthologies of Tang quatrains in Qing Dynasty,anthologies in Qing Dynasty have more normative stylistic rules and layout.Chapter three focuses on two questions of the concept of quatrains which are reflected in anthologies of Tang quatrains in Qing Dynasty.The first question,Wang Shizhen considered that Tang quatrains is equal to Tang Yuefu poems,he would like to highlight the similarities between folk poetry and quatrains in Tang Dynasty.The second question is the concept of Xiaolv which is mentioned in two anthologies in Qianlong Period.The concept of Xiaolv can refer to three connotations: a poem of eight lines,a poem of six lines and a poem of four lines.The authors of anthologies in Qing Dynasty chose this concept to refer to quatrains.Chapter four focuses on the views on the division of Tang quatrains which are reflected in anthologies of Tang quatrains in Qing Dynasty.Some of the authors of these anthologies preferred quatrains which were written in glorious age of Tang Dynasty,some of them preferred the middle and late of Tang Dynasty.As a whole,most of these authors considered that quatrains at different time periods are of equal importance,which reflects the evenhanded attitude of anthologies of Tang quatrains in Qing Dynasty,Chapter five focuses on the art of composition of Tang quatrains.This chapter aims to find the technique and skills poets used in Tang Dynasty according to the comments and preface in anthologies of Tang quatrains in Qing Dynasty.The authors of these anthologies have two main directions: the refinement of writing technique and the digestion of writing technique.Chapter six focuses on the center position of Anthology of Ten Thousand Tang Quatrains by Wang Shizhen.This anthology’s center position was presented through the consumption,circulation and the production of the literary creation.Due to Wang Shizhen’s literary position and talent in poetry,his anthology of Tang quatrains in Qing Dynasty was the most far-reaching anthology in Qing Dynasty,which had a great influence on the anthologies afterward.The final part is the conclusion of this paper,this part clears and defines the significance of the study on anthologies of of Tang quatrains in Qing Dynasty. |
