| Emotional regulation,an important psychological factor,is closely linked to all aspects of child development.Numerous studies have shown that emotion regulation has a significant impact in dividual’s mental health,social interaction,behavioral adjustment and academic performance.Early childhood is an important period in the development of emotional adjustment skills.It is therefore important to enhance emotional regulatory skills in early childhood.Of the many books for young children,picture books are the most suitable for them,which can help children promoting socialization and guiding them towards a more positive outlook on life.There are few empirical studies on the effects of picture book bibliotherapy on preschoolers’ emotion regulation strategies.This study aims to examine the role of picture book bibliotherapy on preschoolers’ emotion regulation strategies.This study thus examines the impact of picture book bibliotherapy on young children’s emotional regulation skills through experimental and questionnaire methods.Findings showed that children in the experiment group did significantly improve in emotion regulation strategies,particularly in cognitive reconstruction,from pretest to posttest.Moreover,five-year-olds tended to use positive emotion regulation strategies as they grow. |
