| On March 12,2020,the forth session of Tensor Flow Developer Summit was held in California,USA.About 30 members on Tensor Flow team gave their keynote speeches.The reporter took the speeches as the material for simulated interpreting and served as the interpreter for these speakers in the summit.In interpreting process,the reporter mainly encountered four kinds of difficulties: strong accents of some Indian speakers,unfamiliarity with technical terminologies,loss of information in paragraph interpreting and absence of logical structure in interpreted version of speeches.After replaying the transcripts of this interpretation and reading related literature,the reporter came up with four feasible solutions to those problems.Firstly,strengthen listening practice of Indian English and summarize the common features of it.Secondly,build a glossary to accumulate technical terms and review them before interpretation.Thirdly,optimize note-taking to evoke the short-term memory.Lastly,grasp the logical connectives in speeches,elicit the real meaning from the original form when interpreting and conveying the meaning of the speakers with logic.Based on the transcripts of this interpretation,the reporter analyzes the difficulties in interpretation and proposes the improving methods,which are not only of great help to the reporter’s interpretations in upcoming projects,but also provide some references to interpreters who may find themselves facing the similar difficulties in the future. |
