| Derrida’s deconstructivism rappresent one of the most influential philosophical theories for the postulation of the paradigms of contemporary art criticism,art history and aesthetics.Due to its formulation as a criticism tout courte toward western metaphysics and the postulation of validity of the singularity of the concept of truth at the core of classical ontology,deconstructivism was extremely influential in artistic and intellectual circuit beyond the European academic word from the70 s onward,from the United States to China.As demonstrated by studies around the reception of deconstructivism in the development of the language of contemporary chinese art,this paper inquires and question the possibility of the reception of deconstructivism in the development of contemporary chinese ceramic.Through the analysis of artworks by five prominent contemporary chinese ceramist and the use of the terminology proposed by Derrida in his aesthetic manuals,it will discuss how deconstructivist theory has been received,applied and understood by contemporary chinese ceramists in the creation of the artwork and it will be inquiried how and if it contributed to the development of the language of contemporary chinese ceramic art. |
