“China and the World Trading System” and “Australian Trade Policy Strategy Contradictions” are both selected from the famous journal The World Economy: Global Trade Policy 2012 as the translation material. The first paper mainly discusses the contradictions between Australia’s current trade strategy and the open trading strategy advocated by itself. The second paper mainly discusses how the world trading system adapts to changing economic realities and improves the development of multilateral open trading in the context of a rising China. As the two papers have rich content and great thoughts,it is expected to provide Chinese scholars with worthy materials on economy and trade for research through this translation practice. With the guidance of “Translation as Adaptation and Selection” of EcoTranslatology, skills for translating long and complex sentences from English to Chinese are explored and analyzed in this report.According to the translator’s adaptation degree to the word order of the source text, the cases are analyzed from three aspects including no adaptation, partial adaptation, and total adaptation to the word order of the source text.In addition,it is expected to provide some enlightenment for translators who work on the translation of economy and trade texts. The following conclusions can be drawn through this translation practice: When the source text is organized as same as the expressing habit of the target language, the translator may totally adapt to the word order of the source text and not change the word order during the translating;if the expressing habit of the source text is slightly different from that of the target language, the translator may partially adapt to the word order of the source text and partially change the word order during the translating;if the expressing habit of the source text is totally different from that of the target text, the translator may select to totally change the word order during the translating.Figure 0;Table 0;Reference 32...
