A Study On The Tone Of Yunxi District (Lukou) In Hunan Province

Abstract/Summary:
Yunxi District is belonging to Yueyang City,Hunan Province.The article takes the Lukou town,under the locally administratered level of Yunxi district,as the survey spot.Through the field investigation to get corpus,and investigate the phonetic general situation of Yunxi dialect such as tones,rhymes,rhythm,with a variety of ways included artificial hearing,experimental phonetics,chart analysis,especially focusing on Yunxi dialect syllabic,dissyllabic,trisyllabic tone,and summarize the tone characteristics and tone sandhi rules.The sound,rhyme and monosyllabic tones of Yunxi(Lukou)dialect are investigated using traditional artificial hearing methods.On this basis,the method of Experimental Phonetics is used to further verify and analyze the monosyllabic tone pattern of Yunxi(Lukou)dialect such as monosyllable tone,tone value,duration and so on.On the basis of monosyllabic tones,using the same way of combining tradition and experiment to explore the combination mode and the rule of the dissyllabic tone sandhi,it’s investigated that dissyllabic tone sandhi based on neutral tone,which is included both tone and tone value.The trisyllabic tone sandhi of Yunxi(Lukou)dialect is an extension of the dissyllabic tone sandhi.It completely follows the rules of the dissyllabic tone sandhi.According to the internal structure of the trisyllabic tone sandhi,it is mainly reflected in “1+2” “2+1” type.Different structural tone sandhi has different forms,“1+2” type is the last word in neutral tone sandhi,“2+1” type is the middle word in neutral tone sandhi.The article investigates the monosyllabic tone pattern of Yunxi(Lukou)dialect,and explores the features and rules of dissyllabic,trisyllabic tone sandhi.It comprehensively describes the overall of Yunxi(Lukou)dialect tone.
