Non-suicidal self injury(NSSI)is a concern of the World Health Organization and people from all walks of life.Teenagers have a high incidence of NSSI.Through the literature review of non-suicidal self injury,it is found that the influencing factors of non-suicidal self injury are mainly divided into two aspects:individual characteristics and family environment.Individual factors directly affect the formation of NSSI,and general family environment influences NSSI by acting on individual characteristics. In this study, the effects of family environment on adolescents’ non-suicidal self injury were explored by combining the functional perspectives provided by family environment and individual emotion regulation. Objective:This study will take Chinese adolescents as the research object, investigate the reported rate and demographic characteristics of adolescents’ NSSI,and explore the influence of family environmental factors, family function, and the choice of emotional regulation strategies on adolescents’ NSSI,as well as the related risk factors of NSSI.In order to understand the epidemiological characteristics of NSSI among adolescents, and provide theoretical reference for the formulation and selection of early prevention and intervention measures of NSSI among adolescents.Methods:7869 middle school students of Xi’an and Baoji in Shannxi Province were selected to fill in Family Adaptability and Cohesion Evaluation Scales(FACES),Emotion Regulation Questionnaire(ERQ),Beck depression inventory-II(BDI-Ⅱ),The Ottawa SelfInjury Inventory(OSI)and self-developed general information questionnaire to screen adolescents with NSSI.The emotion regulation strategies and family function of them were investigated. After eliminating invalid questionnaires, descriptive statistics, significance test,chi-square test and Logistic regression analysis were performed on the obtained data using SPSS 22.0 statistical analysis software.Result:1.The NSSI reporting rate of female adolescents was higher than that of male adolescents(P<0.05);The degree of depression in females was higher than that in males(P<0.05).The location and mode of NSSI of males are more concealed, the risk of fatal injury is higher, and they have stronger planning and purpose to engage in NSSI behavior. The expression inhibition degree of female NSSI adolescents was higher than that of male NSSI adolescents(P<0.05),and the family function of female NSSI adolescents was lower than that of male NSSI adolescents(P<0.05).2.There were no significant differences in depression degree, reported rate of NSSI,NSSI location,NSSI mode,NSSI addiction, emotion regulation strategy and family function between middle and high school students(P>0.05).3.The most tissue of NSSI was the hands(23.7%),and the most common form of NSSI was "biting or damaging nails"(24.3%).4.The report of NSSI are affected by the marital status of the parents, the quality of the parent-child relationship, the quality of the parent-child relationship, and the frequency of the thought of running away from home.5.There were significant differences in depression, emotion regulation strategy and family function between NSSI group and control group(P<0.05).6.Depression was negatively correlated with family function and cognitive reevaluation(P<0.05),while depression was positively correlated with expression inhibition and NSSI addiction(P<0.05).7.There was a significant positive correlation between cognitive reappraisal and family function(P<0.05),and a significant negative correlation between expression suppression and family function(P<0.05).Conclusion:Non-suicidal self injury has various locations, modes and complicated causes.Emotional regulation strategies of expression inhibition and depression were risk factors for NSSI,and emotional regulation strategies of male and cognitive reappraisal and high family closeness were protective factors for NSSI.
