Research On Jiao Ao Zhi In The Republic Of China

Jiao Ao Zhi was a local chronicle about Qingdao organized and compiled by the Jiao ’ ao Commercial Port Bureau in the 17th year of the Republic of China.It was edited by Zhao Qi,head of the Jiao ao Commercial Port Bureau,and compiled by Yuan Rongsou.Tang Tingzhang and Ma Tianlai were appointed as the staff of the Jiao ao Commercial Port Bureau for reference.Completed in October 1928,the Gazetteer is divided into 12 volumes,1 with 10 volumes in total.This chronicle details the historical development of Qingdao from its opening in 1897 to 1927.This is the only local chronicle about Qingdao compiled before 1949,which makes Jiao Ao Zhi have high historical value for studying the urban development and changes of modern Qingdao and the social and economic development of the early trading ports.At the same time,in terms of compilation style and content,Jiao Ao Zhi has important historical and realistic reference significance for the compilation of local records in the context of great changes in the Republic of China,including the setting of local records compilation examples,the abstract of content,the preservation of history,the administration and education.However,the current academic research on Jiao Ao Zhi is relatively limited,and only some scholars have made some research on the literature value of some contents in the book.It can be said that the research on Jiao Ao Zhi is not sufficient,and its value needs to be fully explored.This paper takes Jiao Ao Zhi as the research object,and makes a research review on its compilation background,style,content description and literature value from the perspective of local chronicles,so as to better understand the historical changes in Qingdao during this period,and further explore its cultural value and social and economic value,so as to provide reference for the political,economic,cultural education and urban construction management in Qingdao.
