By using the research methods of philology,hermeneutics,and comparative study this paper makes a systematic arrangement of the ideological background,content,influence and values of Mengan’s works.It uses the investigation of ontology in Mengan Puxi’s commentary on “Prajna Ignorance Theory” as the object of study,and makes a systematic arrangement of the ideological background,content,influence,and values of Mengan’s work.In the analysis of the ideological origin of Mengan,we can found that the Zen of Huanglong School,Zongmi’s Zen integration concept,Zunshi’s “Zhu Zhaolun Shu”and the Jiangnan Buddhist atmosphere on the impact of Mengan.Before analyzing the relationship of “Ti” and “Yong” in Mengan’s exegesis on “Prajna Ignorance theory”,the paper analyzes and sorts out the views of “Ti” and “Yong” in Sanlun school,Tiantai school,Huayan school and Zen school which involved in Mengan Shu by taking the time as the main line.We can found that in the process of the development of Buddhist sects,the two categories of “Ti” “Yong” experienced the evolution from“(?)ūnyatā” to “Mind ontology”.Mengan did this commentary was under the guidance of Zong Mi’s idea,the Tiantai Sect,Huayan Sect and Zen Buddhism were all integrated.And Sengzhao’s theory was annotated by quoting the classics and various categories of Buddhism.In the analysis of the exegesis of “Prajna Ignorance theory” by Mengan,we can find that Mengan’s exegesis was a misinterpretation of Sengzhao’s “(?)ūnyatā”.Mengan takes “Ignorance” as the “Ti” and “Prajna” as the “Yong” and he was found a foothold for the “Prajna” and “Ignorance” which was not explained in Sengzhao’s theory.Mengan changed the description of the reliationship of “Ti” “Yong” and maked it different from Sengzhao’s statement which was also a response to the time issues.Mengan was also one of the pursuers of the “Word Zen” movement.“Word Zen” was a reform of Zen under the influence of “Zen and Jiao’s Fusion”.We can find the ideological value and influence in Mengan’s work through the analysis of them. |
