The Study Of Shanzuo Donglai Zhao Family In Late Ming And Early Qing Dynasty

During Ming and Qing Dynasties, a lot of famous and influential clans appearedin the Shanzuo district. Most of the clans had remarkable achievements both in their official career and literary career. And accordingly they had an important influence in politics, literary and many other fields. And the Zhao Family was also one famous clan of them in Ye County LaizhouPrefecture.The Zhao Family was considered as the most well-known literary familyat the district. Eighteen generations of Zhao Family had stayed in Laizhou Prefecturefrom the early Ming Dynasty to Republic of China since they migrated there. The Zhao Family was from army and the family’s flourish started from the sixth generation members-brothers Zhao Tao and Zhao Huan’s success in official career. After that, Zhao family reached the peak of literary creation during the eighth and ninth generations. The peak had also coincided with the occasion of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. In the period, Zhao Shizhe organized "Shan Zuo Da She", Zhao Shimianestablished "San Shan Da She" and the family members also communicated with the masters of "Shan Zuo".And then, Zhao Family had a certain amount of influence on the "Shan Zuo Parnassus" and the adherents of the former dynasty. Finally, Zhao Shizhe was highly respected not only because of his achievement on history, poetry and poeticsbut also because ofhis noble spirit that not to be an official in the new dynasty. He could not be ignored on the schools of literature named Shan Zuo between the Ming and Qing Dynasty.Until now, the Zhao Family’s study in academic circles only focused on the accounts of Zhao Shizhe’s life experience. But it is possible to go further. At meanwhile, the other members of Zhao family and their works are all introduced independently,just in the form of an addition of someother people. And some data of the family members in different local chroniclesare very contradictory, and thereforesome people incorrectly relay an erroneous message. So it is necessary to clarify the mixed information. There is a big spare for the literature study of Zhao family. And it’s benefit to research the " Shan Zuo " literature in depth considering the creation and communication of Zhao family between the Ming and Qing Dynasty.During the Republic of China,Dong Lai Zhao Shi Ying Shu Cong Kanis edited by Zhao Qi who is the eighteenth generation of Zhao family. There are twelve volumesaltogether in the book. Zhao Qi searched and compiledhis ancestors’ worksand the information about Zhao family in Ye County from someone else’s works and local chronicles. So the book provides valuable data for our study work of Zhao Family at present.The thesis has four chapters-Chapter one is about the origin and development of Zhao family from the Ming dynasty to Qing dynasty.lt will study the members andtheir official career. The most important members will be introduced in the other chapters. So the more important members of the left ones are centrally introduced in this part.Chapter twofully displays Zhao Shizhe’s literary achievements from life experience, literary works, history and poetics four aspects.Zhao Shizhe attaches great importance to his own historical works, the works emphasize the sublime words with deep meaning. His historical works centrally expressed his thoughts and values, it is an important material to comprehensively study Zhao Shizhe and his literary creation which can not be ignored.Chapter three introduces nine important Zhao family members except Zhao Shizhe in Ye County between Ming and Qing dynasties, and their literary achievements will be shown. The nine members include Zhao Shiyuan, Zhao Shiliang, Zhao Shikuan, Zhao Shiwan, Zhao Shimian, Zhao Tao, Zhao Han, Zhao Yuzao and Zhao Yuzan. And the previously mentioned five people including Zhao Shiyuan, Zhao Shiliang, Zhao Shikuan, Zhao Shiwan, Zhao Shimian were famous as " Five Dragon of Zhao Family" at that time. Not all of them have left a large number of works, so the introduction will be different accoding the different people.Chapter four is about the association and the poetry conversation with the other litterateurs of Zhao family to show the literary communication of the whole family.And a little textual research on thsBan Tang She Ji of " Wu Men" which is imprecise now will be shown.There are two tables at the last of my thesis will be shown as the appendix. The first table is about Dong Lai Zhao Shi Ying Shu Cong Kan.The details will be shown and the contents of each volums, author and author of preface and postscript will be listed.The second table isthe ten above-mentioned Zhao family members’ work schedule, including its edition, volume numbers and scatted and lost works during the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
