Application Of Guilin Regional Characteristic Cultural Elements In Ceramic Decoration Design

China is a well-known ancient country of ceramics,with a long history of ceramics and exquisite craftsmanship that has always been well-known in the world.With the development of modern ceramic art,China’s ceramic decoration art is increasingly inclined to inherit and carry forward the local culture while developing innovation and individualization in terms of design concepts and expression forms.Guilin is located in the northeast of Guangxi,at the southern end of the Xiang-Gui Corridor.It is the origin of Guiliu culture and one of the branches of Lingnan culture.Guilin’s beautiful natural landscapes,characteristic ethnic customs,and rich historical and cultural resources constitute the rich connotations of Guilin’s regional culture.The numerous existing ancient sites in Guilin also confirm that Guilin is one of the origins of China’s primitive pottery and has a long ceramic culture.This research starts with the regional culture of Guilin,takes ceramic materials as the carrier,and integrates the regional characteristic cultural elements of Guilin into the ceramic decoration design creation,which also has certain significance for the inheriting and developing of Guilin ceramic culture.Through the analysis of Guilin regional characteristic cultural elements and ceramic decoration art,this paper studies how to combine ceramic works with unique regional cultural style,and puts forward design principles such as regionality,representativeness,epochal and innovation,and design methods such as abstraction,metaphor,transformation,regeneration and addition.According to the constituent elements of regional culture,relevant colors,patterns,shapes and other elements are extracted from the three aspects of Guilin regional culture,folk culture and historical culture,combined with the expression forms and methods of ceramic decoration art,to find the point of convergence between the two,Through the modeling and decoration,the regional culture and regional customs are displayed vividly.Taking the "Impression of Guilin" series of ceramic works as an example,the ceramic decoration design and creation are carried out,and presents Guilin’s regional cultural characteristics through ceramic works,so as to achieve the purpose of expanding the theme of ceramic decoration art and promoting the spread and development of Guilin’s regional characteristic culture.
