| With the great achievements made in developing a socialist market economy in China,the people’s needs are gradually changing from the material needs of meeting the basic demand to the spiritual needs at a higher level.In this process,the imperfect market economy under construction inevitably gives rise to some negative moral problems,where the erosion of hedonism,consumerism and egoism leads to the alienation of human beings;at the same time,Chinese society is stepping into the Internet era,and the network vulgar culture is poisoning citizens’ minds with the help of the Internet platform.In the new era of socialism,it remains a lasting,urgent and important mission to strengthen the civic moral construction.In October 2019,the Outline for the Implementation of the Civic Moral Construction in the New Era was issued,indicating that the CPC Central Committee urgently needs to address the serious moral anomie in the new era.During the Warring States Period,China was in an era of great social changes.In order to maintain the stable order of the society,Xunzi inherited and developed the Confucian ideas,and creatively put forward the moral thought of “rites” as the highest code of conduct.To study the enlightenment of Xunzi’s moral thought to the civic moral construction in the new era is helpful to comb and excavate the essence of Xunzi’s moral thought,injecting vigor into the construction of morality in the new era,to further enrich the system of moral construction in China,improve the way of moral transmission as well as enhance the consciousness of moral subjects,and to further inherit and carry forward the fine culture of the Chinese nation,and maintain national confidence and pride.At present,the research of Xunzi’s thought mainly focuses on the connotation of the thought,its comparison with Confucius and Mencius’ thought,as well as the application of this thought in politics,economy and culture,yet the systematic research on its moral part is relatively lacking.In addition,the research on the construction of socialist civic morality highlights the main content in each period,while the research on its whole course is less involved,and the guiding value of Xunzi’s thought on the civic moral construction in the new era is less included in the systematic study.In this paper,the historical background of the formation of Xunzi’s moral thought and how it was inherited and developed from the thought of Confucius and Mencius were firstly analyzed,and the main content of Xunzi’s moral thought was comprehensively sorted out.Then,the practice mode of Xunzi’s moral thought was discussed.Also,its far-reaching influence in later generations and limitation of time were summed up.Moreover,in this paper,based on briefly combing the course of the construction of socialist civic morality in China,the moral construction ideas of the leading collectives of various generations since the founding of the new China were compared.Additionally,the correspondence between Xunzi’s moral thought and citizen morality in the new era was demonstrated.Based on the above discussion,the enlightenment of Xunzi’s moral thought on the civil moral construction in the new era was proposed in this paper from two aspects,namely the content and the method of civil moral construction in the new era.All in all,in this paper,the benefit of Xunzi’s moral thought to the civil moral construction in the new era of our country was explored through further combing and excavation of its theoretical connotation.These nourishment undoubtedly have distinct times value and realistic significance in the construction and development of socialist ethical thoughts with Chinese characteristics,which will contribute to the process of the sinicization of Marxist moral view to get the enlightenment from the excellent traditional Chinese culture in practice,and also provide a path for the creative transformation and innovative development of Xunzi’s moral thought in the new era. |
