S.A.Alexievich is the winner of the 2015 Nobel Prize in Literature.She conducted literary creations in the form of news interviews,and compiled interviews with specific groups into documentary literary works that recorded historical events.The writer’s life spans two centuries and has experienced both the Soviet Union and the post-Soviet era.Her writings truly record the sufferings experienced by the Slavic people in modern times.Her work mainly involves historical events such as the Second World War,the Afghan War,the Chernobyl nuclear accident and the collapse of the Soviet Union.She worked as a journalist for more than ten years.She has been conducting news interviews and on-site investigations in the long-term.These experiences have given her a keen and persistent peculiarity to the truth.After the beginning of literary creation,non-fiction literature became her choice.She combined news and literature,collected materials by means of news interviews,and then constructed the confession of historical witnesses into an oral history of historical events with unique artistic methods.It not only reflects the image of the beings under certain historical events,but also the history of human beings from the small history of the individual.This special literary genre is called " documental literature " by the author.This paper will discuss the genre " artistic-document literature ".And select the author’s three war-themed works: The War’s Unwomanly Face,Last Witness and Zinky Boys to explain its genre characteristics.This paper is divided into five chapters.The first chapter is the introduction,introducing writer and representative works,summarizing the research situation of the writer at home and abroad,and explaining the research purpose and significance of thesis writing.The second chapter is based on historical and realistic perspectives,explains the inheritance and development of Russian documentary literature by Alexievich,and explains the historical and realistic basis of the genre of her works.The third chapter combines Bakhtin’s polyphony theory,discusses the structural characteristics of her three war-themed works,and explains the polyphonicity of the structure setting.The fourth chapter studies the character characteristics of the three works selected in the paper,indicating the originality of the characters in the works.The fifth chapter begins with the author’s creative perspective and analyzes the author’s position expression behind the text.The conclusion part summarizes the genre characteristics of Alexievich’s works,affirming its creative value and contribution to the development of documentary genre.
