From The Change Of Jia Zhangke’s Movie Narration Evolution Of Its Film Value Orientation

Jia Zhangke is the leading figure of China’s "sixth generation" director,and is also considered to be the unprecedented leader of the Chinese film industry for a hundred years.His works contain a unique artistic style and are also influential in the world.In recent years,with the gradual strengthening of the public’s requirements for spiritual culture,Jia Zhangke’s films have also changed with the development of the times.This change is most directly reflected in the narrative methods.Form is content,and narrative as a form of film actually reflects the change of film value orientation.This article aims to explore the specific changes in the narrative of Jia Zhangke’s film works since his debut,and to analyze the changes in the value orientation reflected by the narrative changes.This article uses the content analysis method,text analysis method and comparative analysis method to comprehensively sort out Jia Zhangke’s eight plot movies,and divides the eight movies into three stages,namely the exploration stage(1995-2003)and the mature stage(2004-2014)and transformation stage(2015-present).Under this premise,I explored the changes in the content narrative and expression narrative of Jia Zhangke’s film.The narratives of these two aspects were studied through the theme,theme,character identity,narrative structure and conflict,and finally,through the theory of value,From the perspective of moral value orientation,aesthetic value orientation,etc.,we make an in-depth analysis of the changes in the narrative aspects found above.Through research,it has been found that Jia Zhangke’s value orientation has undergone major changes.The changes in moral value orientation have changed from individual orientation to social orientation,the gradual weakening of moral concepts and the shift from spiritual supremacy to a material and spiritual outlook;The changes in aesthetic value orientation include the weakening of tragic consciousness,the change from "documentary" to the pursuit of "dramaticization",and the change from emphasizing artistic value to both artistic value and commercial value.
