The nineties’special social context of globalization, provided an opportunity to Jia Zhangke, and the "Sixth Generation" directors. Jia Zhangke is the most representative director of the "sixth generation", he has consciously artistic pursuits, and also has the self-conscious of underclass endorsement. Taking time for clues, this paper is try to study Jia Zhangke’s film text. Maybe the tricks to smear the Eastern civilization and to cater for the western viewpoint are just the secret behind Jia’s success.The first chapter introduces the research status of Jia Zhangke’s film, part from the film image analysis, film marketing and narrative aesthetics, The second chapter discusses from Xiao Wu to Platform and The Unknown Pleasures, Jia Zhangke put lots of fragmentation in his films and try to record the society of China, but he is failure of the epic narrative structure. The third chapter continues to investigate the narrative of Jia Zhangke’s film. Jia gives the underlying a cold watch, and never has an instant, close watch to the bottom. Most of his characters are repressed Asians, and they are all in a "non-normal state." At the same time, Jia Zhangke’s becoming a merchant as his hugely successful commercial operation. All of this makes his films lack of the most basic compassion and care, and in fact he is clearly take the "bottom" class as speculative tactics. He shows China’s western inland to the west, pointing to nasty motives. His western award-winning standard and his unhealthy psychology should be blamed.
