Research On Modeling Evolution And Inheritance Of Shishi In Tang Mausoleum

Stone lions in Tang mausoleum are typical representatives of Tang lion modeling.The evolution process of its modeling reflects the evolution trend and inheritance track of stone lion modeling from royal to folk in Guanzhong area of Shaanxi Province,and reveals the endless vitality of Chinese traditional lion culture represented by Tang Ling stone lions.From the dynamic rigidity of the stone lions in the early Tang Dynasty,to the dynamic stretching of the stone lions after the prosperous Tang Dynasty,and forming a fixed crouching trend,its shape has been passed down to this day.Until the middle and late Tang Dynasty,the stone lions in Tang Ling absorbed foreign culture and folk modeling elements extensively on the basis of reducing their size,and their modeling style was almost folk.In the whole process of development and evolution,the stone lions in Tang Ling have formed certain laws and characteristics,which have been inherited and developed in Shaanxi folk stone lions.Although the stone lions that have continued to this day have different degrees of innovation,for example,the processing technology,placement environment and uses are quite different from those of traditional stone lions,they still retain the squatting style of Tang Ling stone lions and the engraving technique with the mane engraved.Modern stone lions with tang style Tang rhyme can still be seen everywhere in the contemporary urban landscape of Shaanxi represented by Xi ’an.The content elaborated in this paper starts from the origin of stone lion modeling.The early "stone lion" is not a realistic lion modeling,but is endowed with the mysterious color of many folk myths.Therefore,the early stone carvings with lion-shaped elements include Tianlu,evil spirits,Kirin and other stone carving forms.The modeling of stone lions in Tang Dynasty gradually became realistic,and began to pay attention to the description of mane,muscle,lion’s paw and other details,which enhanced the decoration.The stone lions in Tang Dynasty have a complete modeling system,which more intuitively shows the evolution and inheritance of the stone lions in Tang Dynasty.The stone lions in Tang Dynasty have a far-reaching impact on Shaanxi folk stone lions and contemporary stone lions.From the royal cemetery door lions to folk architectural components,its clear context still has an inestimable reference and application value in the field of modern public landscape design.In this paper,through field investigation,literature review,data analysis,image comparison and other methods,the evolution law of Tang Ling Shishi modeling is combed and analyzed by image comparison.As a unique cultural form in Shaanxi and even the whole of China,Tangling Shishi has a thousand years of history,profound cultural connotation and regional foundation.Stone carvings such as Ganling Shishi and Shunling Shishi have already become the typical representatives of Chinese traditional culture and the material carrier of contemporary Chinese national spirit.Therefore,it is of great practical significance to deeply excavate and sort out the relationship between the evolution and inheritance of stone lions in Tang Mausoleum for carrying forward the spirit of traditional culture and promoting the characteristic culture of Shaanxi regional cities.
