The task-centered approach to language teaching is a new development pattern in recent years.It turns the simple teaching of language knowledge into a practical way of teaching in true classroom,which has attracted the attention of linguists and educators at home and abroad.In order to keep abreast of the latest international trends and grasp the development trend of language teaching,many educators,linguists and front-line educators in China are eager to read foreign books related to Task-based Language Learning and Teaching(TBLT).Therefore,the author decided to translate the book Recent Perspectives on Task-based Language Learning and Teaching.First of all,the language of this book is not obscure,and it can be understood by experienced or inexperienced TBLT researchers,which opens up some new research approaches to TBLT.Secondly,by reading this article,front-line teachers can combine theory with practice and promote the development of language teaching in primary and secondary schools in China.This book,published by the famous De Gruyter De Guitar Press,is written by Mohammad Jawad Ahmeian.It is very useful for reference and learning,and is of great significance to those who are committed to the study of TBLT in China.This report first analyzes the content and linguistic features of the source text,and then summarizes the difficulties and key points in the translation,so as to explore practical skills in translating educational texts into Chinese from lexical,syntactic and textual levels.At the lexical level,it mainly introduces the translation skills and methods of proper nouns and terminology.At the syntactic level,it mainly analyzes the ways of dealing with passive sentences and translating long sentences(sentences with too many words).At the textual level,it mainly analyzes how to use repetition and addition to make the text more coherent.This translation practice can not only provide readers with E-C books about foreign TBLT,but also consolidate the author’s translation skills through this practice.The author is committed to middle school English teaching,which is also of great benefit to the author to improve his teaching ability.
