Since the 1980 s,the component teaching method has always been a hot spot and focus in foreign Chinese character teaching.A component is a character-building unit composed of strokes and has the function of assembling Chinese characters.Compared with the analysis of Chinese characters with strokes,it is not trivial complex;compared with the memorization of the whole Chinese character,it is not complicated.Teaching Chinese characters with components has its unique charm.This article is based on the principle and method of component splitting established in "GF0014—2009 Standard for Modern Common Character Components and Component Names".It compares the HSK in the "Commonly Used Chinese Characters List" attached to the "General Curriculum for International Chinese Teaching"(Revised Edition).(HSK Level 1-3)600 Chinese characters are exhaustively divided into components,and the composition of the parts is statistically analyzed,and combined with the statistics of relevant teaching materials,questionnaire survey results,and teacher interviews,suggestions of teaching and books for foreign Chinese characters teaching are proposed.This article divides into six parts:The first part is the introduction.From the practical teaching,the author finds that the primary learners’ Chinese character acquisition ability is far lower than the "listening,speaking and reading" ability,while the convenience and advantages of using components to teach Chinese characters to introduce research’s origin.From the study of "Commonly Used Chinese Characters Table",the study of Chinese character components,and the teaching research of Chinese character components,the relevant research status sortes out.On this basis,the research significance and purpose of this article,research methods and ideas are further elaborated.In the second part,the statistics of component splitting and component character formation ability of 1-3 Chinese characters in the "Commonly Used Chinese Characters Table" are calculated.In the process of dismantling,351 components were dismantled by strict accordance with the parts dismantling rules,roles,and their names stipulated in "GF0014—2009 Standard for Modern Common Characters and Part Names".The splitting of the Chinese character parts,the structure of the components,the names of the components,and the example characters are respectively displayed,which is convenient for teachers and learners to read.The third part is a questionnaire on the research objects.The questionnaire is designed from two perspectives: the cognition of the elementary international students’ Chinese character components and the investigation of the elementary international students’ grasp of the Chinese character components.The study finds that learners have understood the difficulties of Chinese character learning and the advantages of component teaching in the process of Chinese education,but the lack of systematic,useful,and funny teaching methods of Chinese character components.This situation indicates that Chinese character components still needs to be further studied and practiced.The fourth part finishes the statistical analysis of the teaching knowledge and the practice methods in the primary comprehensive course textbooks used by the research objects,and interviews the teachers of the preparatory complete primary course to understand their Chinese character teaching methods and teaching process,and try to question the learners.Discuss and analyze the problems found in the investigation.The fifth part combines the results of the learner’s survey and the teacher’s interview.It proposes proposes solutions to the existing problems,from the two aspects of Chinese character component teaching and Chinese character component textbook layout.The layout of teaching materials runs through the implementation of the principles of the component teaching method,and the teaching design gives full play to the advantages of the value of the component teaching method.The sixth part is the conclusion,which summarizes the main points and research conclusions of the full text.It hopes that this article can help elementary Chinese learners to use the components to to understand the shape of Chinese characters better,remember the sounds of Chinese characters,and understand the meanings of Chinese characters.Provide help for the theoretical research and teaching practice of teaching Chinese characters to foreigners.
