| Progressive aspect has always been a hot topic in linguistics.In the past comparative studies between English and Chinese,many scholars have found that English progressive aspect is more widely used than Chinese progressive aspect.For example,English progressive aspect can express euphemistic request in a certain context,but Chinese progressive aspect can’t.However,from the perspective of TCFL research,most of the previous studies on this grammatical point are still based on the usage of progressive aspect markers and their combinations,often ignoring other expressions of the same meaning in Chinese.Even from the perspective of error analysis,there are few differences in the scope of use between foreign students’ mother tongue and Chinese progressive aspect.We believe that progressive aspect teaching not only includes the teaching of progressive aspect markers and their combinations,but also includes the teaching of structures that can express the same semantics.Therefore,in order to more comprehensively explore the acquisition of Chinese progressive aspect by foreign students,this paper,from the perspective of English Chinese comparison,takes the catcher in the rye,the old man and the sea and their translations as the scope of the study,and takes the progressive aspect marker BE+V-ing as the reference,uses the translation method to count two groups of data related to the expression of Chinese and English progressive aspect.The first group only selected the sentences with progressive aspect markers and their combinations as the statistical objects to obtain the frequency of related expressions;the second group selected all the Chinese expressions corresponding to English progressive aspect semantics except for the first group,totally gets nine semantic expressions,which includes not only the structure that can express "progressive / continuous",but also the structure that can express "future","initial" and "progressive ",etc.Finally,based on these two groups of statistical results,this paper collects and analyzes the errors of the acquisition of Chinese progressive aspect markers and their combinations by foreign students in Nanchang University,and puts forward some targeted teaching strategies. |
