With the merger of the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Tourism, the relationship between culture and tourism has become closer.“Culture + Tourism” has become a new way for people to travel. As an important part of cultural heritage, cultural heritage protection sites have gradually become an important tourism resource.Jingzhou was the capital of the state of Chu for 411 years by the 20 th generation of King Chu,creating a Chu culture comparable to the ancient Greek and Athenian culture, leaving a rich cultural heritage. At present, the research on cultural heritage of Jingzhou mainly focuses on the protection and development of a single project, and lacks the research on the spatial distribution of cultural heritage at the regional level. This article takes 14 national-level cultural heritage protection sites,57 provincial-level cultural heritage protection sites, and 467 city-county-level cultural heritage protection sites as research objects. It uses the nearest neighbor index, geographical concentration index, and nuclear density analysis to conduct cultural heritage research. The spatial distribution research was carried out,and the tourism development layout and tourist routes of Jingzhou cultural heritage were proposed. The findings are as follows:(1)From the perspective of the overall characteristics, cultural heritage is distributed in a cohesive manner;the geographical distribution of cultural heritage is unevenly distributed through the geographical concentration index and the Lorentz curve;and the spatial distribution characteristics of cultural heritage in Jingzhou are obtained through nuclear density analysis: A high-density distribution area is formed at the junction of Jingzhou and Shashi, and a high-density zone is roughly formed on the edges of Songzi、Gongan and Shishou, and a second-high-density zone is formed in Honghu.(2)From the level of cultural heritage, cultural heritage protection sites at all levels are clustered and distributed; The nuclear density analysis of national, provincial and city and county cultural heritage protection sites found that national and provincial cultural heritage protection sites all formed high density distribution areas at the junction of Jingzhou and Shashi.County-level cultural heritage protection sites form high-density distribution areas at the junction of Jingzhou and Shashi、Shishou,Sub-high-density zones were formed in Songzi and Gong an,and sub-high-density zones were formed in Honghu.(3)From the perspective of the type of cultural heritage, the index of the nearest neighbors of ancient tombs、ancient sites、ancient buildings、important historical sites and representative buildings in modern times are all less than 1,showing a cluster distribution; However, the number of grotto temples and stone carvings is relatively small, and the clustering is not obvious;Ancient tombs are mainly distributed in Shishou, and ancient buildings are mainly distributed at the junction of Jingzhou and Shashi.Ancient sites are mainly distributed in Songzi and Gongan.Important historical sites and representative buildings in modern time are mainly distributed in Honghu and Jianli.Cave temples and stone carvings are mainly distributed in Jiangling.(4)Finally,based on the spatial distribution characteristics of cultural heritage, combined with the current status of cultural heritage development in Jingzhou, the tourism development layout of cultural heritage of Jingzhou is proposed as “one heart, one axis, and four districts”.Based on the development layout, three tourist routes are also planned.
