| During the Anti-Japanese War(hereinafter referred to as the Anti-Japanese War)Nanning was the capital of Guangxi Province for five years.During this period,Nanning established a more influential political propaganda group and published numerous newspapers and periodicals.During the Anti-Japanese War,Nanning’s periodicals were rich in types,covering politics,economy,culture,science,education,sports,health,and even comprehensive.They left a lot of historical materials,which were of great significance to the study of Guangxi Anti-Japanese culture and even Chinese Anti-Japanese culture,and should not be ignored.Literary periodicals in Nanning Periodicals occupied an important part during the Anti-Japanese War.The cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party during the war allowed Nanning to accommodate the literary tendencies of multiple forces.During the Anti-Japanese War,the Kuomintang ruled area had a rich variety of literary journals,and publications with various literary positions had their own living space.During the Anti-Japanese War,Nanning literary journals were dominated by periodicals established by the Guangxi government(Xingui Department).Important journals such as Guangxi Youth,Southern Magazine,Southern Youth,and Chuangjin Monthly,these publications were also dominated by some literary and artistic columns.For example,to commemorate the "June 1Movement"("Guangdong and Guangxi Incident"),the special column "Life Record" of the1937 Special Issue of the June First Anti-Japanese Movement was published,the "Arts" column of People’s Garden,and the Chuangjin Monthly "Poems and Essays" and "Arts" columns.During the Anti-Japanese War,Nanning literary periodicals had the dual nature of strong literary and propaganda and agitation,which is worthy of in-depth discussion.This article is divided into four chapters to expand the discussion.The first chapter examines the development of Nanning literary journals during the Anti-Japanese War,analyzes the reasons for its short-term development,the classification of the publications,the main characteristics,and the connection with Chinese literary journals during the Anti-Japanese War.The second chapter cuts into the literary works of Nanning literary journals during the Anti-Japanese War,and analyzes the various literary themes expressed,either facing the cruelty of war,or accusing the darkness of society,or shaping people’s heroes.The third chapter discusses the stylistic characteristics of Nanning literary journals during the Anti-Japanese War.Among them,there are various poetry styles,lyric poems have profound meaning,and narrative poems are deep and solemn.In terms of novels,narratives have made bold breakthroughs,and romance novels have broken out of the framework of love between men and women.The model of "revolution-love" simplifies,romanticizes,and crudely describes the revolution.The heroes and heroines may reluctantly separate,or dissolve their marriage,or establish themselves on their own.It shows the complexity of people.In terms of prose,talk more about intellectual prose of literature and art,which not only satisfies the masses of people.The need for cultural knowledge also disseminates advanced literary theories;in addition,modern exploration of literary creation techniques,such as the use of symbolism and defamiliarization techniques.The fourth chapter discusses the relationship between the propaganda and the literariness of Nanning literary periodicals as wartime periodicals during the Anti-Japanese War,as well as the function and contribution of Nanning literary periodicals during the Anti-Japanese War.To mobilize the people for a comprehensive and lasting battle,it is necessary to carry out anti-Japanese propaganda work.Only by carrying out anti-Japanese propaganda can the severe anti-Japanese situation facing China be alleviated.As a wartime publication,Nanning literary journals had a strong propaganda and agitation during the Anti-Japanese War.They made important contributions in propagating the victory of the Anti-Japanese War and encouraging the masses to join the Anti-Japanese National Salvation Movement.The literary works involved propaganda in conjunction with the Anti-Japanese War and the assistance of mobilizing people,as well as the role and contribution of Nanning literary journals during the Anti-Japanese War. |
