A Report On The E-C Translation Of Ergonomics Design Guidelines For Engineers (Chapter 4-6)

Ergonomics is defined as a multi-discipline to optimize production efficiency based on the performance of the human body.Although domestic ergonomics research has been conducted in China for decades,the results have not yet reached the general public,and domestic research projects on ergonomics are still relatively rare.However,with the continuous development of China’s economy,it has become an urgent need to improve domestic production efficiency.Ergonomics is of great significance in improving production efficiency,ensuring employee safety,and saving production costs.So far industrial production has become saturated,ergonomics design is expected to become a new economic growth point.The translation and introduction of ergonomic works is urgent.Ergonomics Design Guidelines for Engineer,the source text of this translation project,is a guideline for engineers on the design of working area.The guideline is to adapt the work environment to people to increase productivity,which aims to serve as a reference for EHS engineers.This translation project is authorized by Liuzhou ZF Co.,Ltd.,and translated by the translator and other members.Chapter 4 to chapter 6 of the source text are translated by the translator during this translation project.The translation report makes analyze,summary,reflection and conclusion for the translation procedures in combination with specific cases under translation shift.This report can be divided into four parts: The first part is an introduction of the translation project,which mainly describes the background,purpose and significance of the source text;The second part is the introduction,analysis and summary of the translation process,which mainly focuses on the pre-translation preparation,difficulties encountered and solutions,and post-translation review and revision;The third part is a further analysis on the shifts in the translation project under Catford’s Translation Shift theory.With these cases,this report analyzes the shifts of vocabulary,sentence,discourse and structure in scientific texts;And the last part is a conclusion of the whole report.The purpose of this translation project is to provide more ergonomic reference for industrial design and management in China.
