The translation material of the report is excerpted from Larry Weber’s newly published book — Authentic Marketing: How to Capture Hearts and Minds Through the Power of Purpose.Authentic Marketing is composed of thirteen chapters.It is detailed and compact,with a novel theme and sufficient examples,which helps to understand the role of real marketing in enterprises,and helps target readers to formulate correct strategies and decisions.There is no Chinese translation of Authentic Marketing.The translator selected Chapter six to Chapter nine as her translating materials for Larry gave a large number of real marketing examples as strong evidence for his point of view.Juliane House,a famous German translator,is the early scholar to systematically study the assessment method of translation quality.In 1977,House proposed her translation quality assessment model(known as TQA model),which is the first TQA model with comprehensive theory supports and empirical studies recognized by the world’s translation theories scholars.Based on this,Juliane House’s TQA model was served as a tool for the author to conduct a post-translation revision with the purpose of helping the author find out problems in translation from a comprehensive and objective perspective,thus improving the quality of translation.The report excerpts about 11,000 words from Authentic Marketing.When its translation was finished,the quality assessment was started following the steps House set in her TQA model.When finished,the author found that House’s model is a great tool to proofread a piece of translation on her own,for the model provides a detailed,feasible,and objective way to examine translation from different depths and dimensions,benefiting the translator to locate translation errors or problems in English-Chinese translation in vocabulary use,phrase collocations,sentence structure and so on and so forth.
