| With the continuous advancement of economic globalization,and intercultural communication has become a feature of the times,China is increasingly in need of talents with high intercultural communicative competence.Therefore,the Ministry of Education revised the New Curriculum Standard in 2017,and put forward requirements of cultivating students’ intercultural communicative competence.Cultivating students’ intercultural communicative competence in senior high school English teaching can not only broaden students’ international vision,enhance their communicative competence,but also stimulate their interest in learning,improve their English level and academic performance.But in reality,the cultivation of senior high school students’ intercultural communicative competence is not valued,and students’ intercultural communicative competence is also worrying.Based on the intercultural communication teaching theory and constructivism learning theory,this research adopts the methods of literature review,questionnaire survey and interview to investigate the cultivation of intercultural communicative competence of 115 senior two students in a senior high school in Chongqing and interviews the teachers,trying to solve the following problems: 1.What is the current situation of cultivating students’ intercultural communicative competence in senior high school English teaching;what are the problems? 2.What are the causes of these problems? 3.What are the effective teaching strategies to improve students’ intercultural communicative competence?Through the collection and analysis of research statistics,it is found that the current high school students’ intercultural communicative competence is generally low,and the problems are as follows: firstly,teachers do not pay enough attention to the culture teaching,ignoring the cultivation of students’ intercultural communicative competence;secondly,students lack cultural knowledge and communication confidence.The main reason is that the entrance examination involves limited cultural knowledge,and the teaching mainly focuses on knowledge learning and skill training.The author puts forward corresponding strategies according to the causes of the problems and the New Curriculum Standard.This research brings new enlightenment to the cultivation of high school students’ intercultural competence.The proposed strategies for the cultivation of intercultural communicative competence have certain reference value and practical significance.Of course,there are still many deficiencies in this study,such as the scope of the investigation is not wide enough,the author will continue to make efforts in the teaching practice and improve this research. |
